It is the start of the new term so time for an update on our latest news at Daisy Chain. You may have noticed we have had a few quiet weeks over the summer due to children being on holiday, we now welcome back the term time only children and any new children who have started with us. Over the summer we have said a reluctant goodbye to 15 of our Pre-School children who have now made their move to “big school”, this was as always very sad for us but we wish these children lots of luck with their new adventures!
We have welcomed some new staff over the summer Amy Burton (NVQ Level3 in Childcare) and Rebecca Parkin (NVQ Level 3 in Childcare). Amy was with us as a long term student and has joined our bank of supply staff whilst studying at university. Rebecca has joined us on a part time basis at the moment and will be working across nursery. I’m sure we will all give them both a warm welcome. Jane Bradley (Nursery Assistant) will also be working in each room throughout nursery.
Blue Room News
Blue room is as busy as always with lots of new little faces starting with us!
Each child has a key person to help settle them in, if you’re not sure who this is please ask as they will support your child and you getting used to the nursery environment.
We are very proud of how busy baby room continues to be and would like to thank all the staff for their hard work.
At the end of term in December we will be holding our annual Christmas coffee morning where parents come in and have a catch up with staff and some refreshments. This will be arranged closer to the date and letters sent home.
Staff team consists of; Nadine Roberts (Head of Blue Room), Amanda Griffiths (Nursery Nurse), Gemma Ord (Nursery Nurse), Michelle Pashley (Nursery Nurse).
Red Room News
Toddler Room is now slightly quieter for a short period due to quite a few of the children moving upstairs to the Pre-School with the “big guys”.
If you would like a look around Pre-School again before your child turns three please speak to Eileen Watson (Head of Toddler Room) who will happily show you around to re familiarise yourself before your child’s move.
A big congratulation to Eileen in completing her NVQ Level 4! Well done on all your hard work.
Congratulations also to Kaleigh Crofts (Nursery Nurse) on completing her Level 3, well done!

Green Room News
Pre-School is now slightly quieter after a busy term, due to lots of our Pre-School children making their move to primary school. We will miss them all and wish them luck with their new challenges. We held a graduation ceremony over the summer to celebrate their time with us, which was a lovely chance to recognise their achievements and say goodbye to the children and parents.
Staff Team consists of; Lauren Greenwood (Head of Pre-School), Kelly Swan (Nursery Nurse), Aimie Commerford (Nursery Nurse) and Grace Ward (Nursery Nurse).
Other News
- We will be holding an autumn fayre to raise money for new resources. We hope you can all attend as our summer fayre last year was a great success despite the rain! A date in October will be confirmed.
- Please ensure parents booking holidays for their child do give a month’s notice in order to receive their 50% reduction for three weeks of the year.
